Recently, GN Solids Control successfully delivered a complete HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) mud recycling system to a valued customer in the Middle East. The package includes a mud mixing tank integrated with a compact mud cleaning unit, designed specifically for trenchless and HDD applications in harsh desert environments.
The mud cleaning unit is equipped with a dual-deck shale shaker for primary solids removal, followed by a desanding and desilting cleaner for further separation of fine particles. High-performance centrifugal sand pumps are used to feed the hydrocyclones and transfer processed mud efficiently throughout the system.
The mixing tank features a built-in jet mixing system with a venturi hopper, allowing for quick and consistent mixing of bentonite or polymer additives. The overall design ensures reduced waste discharge, cleaner drilling fluids, and extended tool life.
All tank surfaces are coated with anti-corrosion epoxy suitable for high temperatures, and the electrical control panels are certified for use in outdoor drilling sites.
This delivery once again demonstrates GN’s capability to provide tailored mud systems to meet the demanding conditions of HDD and trenchless projects globally. We look forward to supporting more infrastructure development projects in the Middle East and beyond.
