GN SOLIDS CONTROL announces the successful installation of a 1000HP rig mud circulation system for a Yunnan mining project. Engineered for complex geological conditions, the system optimizes drilling efficiency while meeting strict environmental standards in China’s resource sector.
System Configuration
The fully integrated solution features four mud tanks and a suite of advanced GN equipment:
- 3 GNZS594K shale shakers (300 m³/h capacity each) efficiently remove coarse solids (≥74μm) from drilling mud.
- 1 GNZCQ270 vacuum degasser eliminates gas-cut mud through low-pressure separation, ensuring stable mud density and reducing blowout risks.
- 1 GNZJ752K-2S desander (44–74μm separation) and 1 GNZJ752K-12N desilter (15–44μm) provide two-stage cleaning for medium-to-fine particles.
- 1 GNLW452D medium-speed centrifuge(40 m³/h capacity) achieves fine separation down to 2–5μm, reclaiming valuable weighting agents and minimizing waste disposal costs.
Supporting components include mud agitators, sand pumps, a mixing hopper, and an intelligent control system for real-time performance monitoring.
Operational Performance
Deployed in Q3 2023, the system has delivered exceptional results in Yunnan’s high-clay terrain:
- 95% solids removal efficiency across all stages reduces mud contamination and cuts freshwater consumption by 30%.
- Gas intrusion risks are significantly mitigated, enhancing wellbore stability during 1000HP rig operations.
- By recycling 80% of drilling fluids, the system prevents over 500 tons of waste discharge monthly, aligning with China’s “Green Mines” initiative.
